Local Resources - Queenstown
Queenstown Plunket - Plunket provide a lot of free or subsidised services including antenatal classes, first aid classes, car seat installation and checks, child development checks and playgroups. The free Plunket line (0800 933 922) provides 24/7 support and you can now schedule a callback regarding any questions you have about breastfeeding or sleeping.
Plunket have physical clinics in both Queenstown and Arrowtown (where playgroups are also held) and have a pop-up location in Frankton. You can self-refer your child to Plunket if they were not born in NZ and you'd like to have a developmental check up.
Central Lakes Family Services - CLFS are an amazing local organisation that support parents and families through a variety of offerings. They run a parenting course, can provide counselling, offer family or domestic violence safety planning, provide social work services and so much more. They currently run a free new parents morning tea each Thursday at St John's where you can connect with other parents.
SPACE by Salvation Army - new parents classes to connect with other parents and discuss relevant topics such a parenting styles and attachment to your baby.
Baby box - free box of baby goodies for your newborn.
Playcentre - Wakatipu and Queenstown. An early child education with a difference, you as parents go along as well!
Laryn Health - acupuncture and osteopathy for pregnancy and postpartum
Multiple Choice - playgroup and sleep consulting. Emma is a nurse and midwife and hosts playgroup once a week, also offers Possum's sleep consulting and can provide general parenting support as you need.
The Pelvic Physio Queenstown - a pelvic physio is an amazing support during pregancy, postpartum or whenever in life! Our pelvis is interconnected with our whole body and we especially need good pelvic health during pregnancy, birth and recovery (no matter how you ended up giving birth).
Soul Juice Yoga - offering prenatal, mums and bubs, mums and toddlers and family yoga, a great way to connect with other parents and families and your body/breath at the same time!
